Well this is my first read for @orderofthebookish. But wow, once I got started I couldn’t put it down. I finally had time to read today after all of the packing for our trip. This book was a great way to end the night! I recommend this book. It’s an easy read, great details and a catching story line. I started it not fully knowing what to expect, once I met Samson I had to know what happened next. It had me on the edge of my seat!

Ok, hear me out. The plot was AMAZING. All credit to the author, truly a unique story and it had the potential to be amazing.

For me personally, the writing let me down. This book needed to be 200 pages longer! There needed to be more depth, more detail, just more.

However, I still recommend this book if you want a quick read! Also, you may enjoy this writing style. It really is all about personal preference.

I thoroughly enjoyed this Book. I finished it in just under 3 hrs and I was pleasantly surprised when the church they were discussing was 1 that I was actually familiar with.

It has a descent amount of intrigue and action and it definitely pulled at my heart strings a few times. Kevin sounds Yummy with a Capitol Y !! Who doesn't love a storyline with a bad girl/boy turned good right?

You won't be disappointed with this book so take a go and enjoy the mystery 😉

Happy Reading

This was my first book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Characters were great, storyline and plot flowed nicely. It was an easy read with enough thrill to keep you wanting to read to find out what happened next. I really enjoyed all the characters but I have to say my favorite was the addition of Samson. I wasn’t super sure what was going on when he was first introduced but it was a really cute addition that lifted the spirits of the story even more. I would definitely read a sequel to this. I would love to see what happens to the characters next because even though it had a good ending it was open enough to give way to another book.

I absolutely loved this book! I especially love the main characters Kevin and Jessie. They each had their own past and demons that they continued to fight but even when things hit rock bottoms they didn’t give up. I love how they explained their past but also kept their demons real in their present life. I also loved seeing that their past intersected at one point. That was an awesome touched that brought the story together really well. I was absolutely heart broken about one of the deaths in the novel and was praying they made it. But by the end I see how it worked for the book. And the romance was a slow burn that developed beautifully and came with real problems like lies and secrets. Overall it’s a great book and I’d definitely read it again and I 100% recommend it!

How do you escape your demons of the past? We all make mistakes and where our road to healing leads one is a path of love from those we come in contact with along our journey. Are we willing to let those that God has sent to us help us?

Jessie married a man that turned her life upside down in ways she had never dreamed of. Now that he is out of prison how will she put this past behind her. Kevin, a former cop turned PI, is assigned to protect her and is drawn to her as feelings begin to develop. Their past connection may have brought them together, but it is their desire for a new life that brings them both to a place of hope and healing.

This is an easy read with a captivating story line. Thanks to @orderofthebookish for the opportunity to read this beautiful story of healing and moving forward.

This book is the best I’ve read all year so far.

All I can say is I gave this book a 10/10. First thing first, I love that it has religion in the book as I am a Christian. I also love the mystery and thriller aspect of the book, and it also has romance aspects of it as well. I could not put this book down for too long without thinking about it and I can not wait to read other books from this author thank you for your creativity.

My first review for Order Of The Bookish!! I went for the book least likely to be one I would normally pick to read, just for diversity. I ended up really liking this book! Genre-wise it was very crime thriller/suspense, with a hint of clean romance, and heavy on the Christian/God themes. I don't normally go for Christian-centered novels, but I still found plenty to connect with in this book. I liked the perspective of each character and learning their motivations. I liked learning the backstories of each of the characters and how they intersected. Particularly enjoyed Megan and Samson (what a great idea to include his perspective as well!). I got very attached to all the characters, which made some parts of the book difficult. There are some pretty dark parts (drug and alcohol addiction, custody issues, grief, death and murder), which could be triggering for some readers.
